-
I focus on collaboration, working alongside you, to identify effective strategies that support your goals.
-
Using a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and mindfulness techniques, I address a wide range of issues, from anxiety, depression, sexuality, neurodivergence, and relationship challenges.

What to Expect
-
Standard Sessions: Appointments typically last 50 minutes. Due to the nature of my practice I will not be running late, unless there are unforseen circumstances beyond my control.
-
In our first sesion will focus on understanding your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals. If you’ve completed the intake forms thoroughly, we will be able to skip the admin questions and some of the background questions. It’s completely up to you to share what you feel comfortable with and how.
-
Therapy Process: Therapy generally lasts between 6 to 15 sessions, with an option to start weekly and then transition to fortnightly sessions as you progress. We will regularly review your goals to ensure we are on track.
Fees and Rebates
My fee is $220 for a 50-minute session. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per year. Some private health funds also cover individual counselling sessions.

Session Types and Fees
A standard session is $220.
Medibank and Medicare rebates may adjust your out of pocket expenses.
Bulk Billing will unfortunaltely only be available to a limited percentage of clients at any one time. If you are eligible please check with me as to how long the waitlist is for that option.
A Pre-referral Intro session for 15 minutes is $60
I will have a limited number of these available as I feel it would be ideal to meet up and decide whether we can work together before you go and see your GP for a referral and before we commit to a full session. Not every therapist is right for every client and vice versa, lets find out first.
If I feel one of my collegues will be a better fit I will be able to guide you in the right direction.
Cancellation Fees, variable.
The earlier you are able to let me know the easier it is for me to reschedule you and other clients and not waste that time.
I want to be flexible, I understand that life gets complicated, but please show me as much courtesy as possible.
Please feel free to email me if you have any questions ,

Meet Emma
Hello! I’m Emma, a counsellor with a rich and varied background that shapes my approach to mental health. My journey began in stand-up comedy in Adelaide and took me to Melbourne, where I performed sold-out shows at the Melbourne Comedy Festival with my act, "F*ck, A Love Story." Along the way, I created a YouTube segment called "Ask Mistress M" on Angry Aussie's Channel, sharing insights on relationships with humour and thoughtful research.
Life's challenges, including my own experiences with anxiety and depression as a neurodivergent individual, have given me valuable perspectives. These personal insights inform my compassionate and understanding approach to counselling. Deciding that I wanted to help others, I returned to university in Adelaide to pursue a Psychology degree, ultimately completing my Master's in Social Work.
Throughout my academic journey, I’ve contributed to various publications, including Flinders University’s Empire Times Magazine and the Adult Match Maker Blog as a 'Sexpert.' I also maintained a blog called "Diary of Being a Writer" on Medium, where I reflected on the writing process and my experiences of writing a novel.
In my counselling practice, I draw from my diverse experiences to create a supportive and personalised environment. I’m passionate about helping others navigate their mental health journeys, using evidence-based practices tailored to each individual's needs.
When I'm not creating or counselling, I enjoy gardening, sitting by my pond, carving lino and spending time with my furry and feathered friends at home.
In a nutshell, I’m a writer, humourist, actor, comedian, academic, and counsellor—all dedicated to helping you thrive.
